Really really special. I wonder to what extent you think Rav Moshe Shapiro was of a similar model. In the sense that he had a clear grasp of secular philosophy, and based off some conversations I've had with others a vast secular knowledge. But he never quotes any of it. And unless you have seen the idea elsewhere you can totally miss it.
